Completion of this operation is said to be critical to Premier being able to produce first oil by the end of 2014 from the challenging project in the harsh West of Shetland area.
Industry sources told Upstream that the 5000-tonne deck was installed atop its jacket on Tuesday by Heerema's Thialf vessel.
If heavy weather had forced installation to be delayed by a further few weeks or even days, then Premier would have had to postpone first oil from Solan until 2015.
