The well follows the Ca Rong Do (Red Emperor) discovery announced in June, that has since tested a combined 3265 barrels of oil per day plus 8.1 million cubic feet of gas per day from two stacked reservoir sands, co-venturer Pitkin said.
Block 07/03 covers 4915 square kilometres in the prospective Nam Con Son basin and is next to Block 12W which holds the Chim Sao and Dua oilfields.
