UK independent Premier Oil is understood to have decided to charter jack-up rig Tasha from Indonesian drilling contractor Apexindo for a two-phase drilling campaign covering 2017 and possibly 2018 on the shallow-water Natuna Sea Block A off Indonesia.
Drilling contractors said that Premier has issued a letter of intent to Apexindo, though a final commercial contract is still being prepared.
They added that it might take a while for a formal award to be confirmed as the recommendation will need endorsement from Indonesia’s upstream regulator SKKMigas.
