Drill stem tests conducted at the Rhourde Terfaia-1 well, the first to be drilled on the HBR perimeter, found crude oil flows at about 1000 barrels per day and natural gas at 300,000 cubic feet per day.
PTTEP, which holds an operating 24.5% stake in the project, plans to drill more exploration and appraisal wells to confirm the extent of the petroleum reserves in the area, it said in an announcement.
