The 7218/11-1 probe will be drilled about 25 kilometres south of Statoil’s Havis discovery in Repsol-operated production licence 531, PetroMedia reported.
The original spud date of December has now been pushed back to late January or early February.
The well, targeting primarily oil in the Torsk and Kveite/Kolmule formations, will be drilled by semi-submersible Transocean Barents to a total depth of 2540 metres, with drilling expected to take 50 days.
