PetroFrontier had contracted Ensign Rig 918 to drill and stimulate its MacIntyre-2H and Baldwin-2H wells in January, hoping to start the programme in mid to late March, and follow with horizontal drilling of a third well, Owen-3H.
But Australia-based Baraka Energy, which holds a 25% stake in the EP 127 permit – where the MacIntyre-2H well is situated, informed the Australian Securities Exchange today that the rig would not become available until mid-April.
