Rowan revealed in its monthly drilling report that Bermuda-based Energy XXI had extended its contract for the rig for another 300 days until November 2016. It added the day rate under the extension would be either $70,000 of $75,000 per day depending on the well location.
Rowan also revealed in its report the jack-ups Cecil Provine and Gorilla II had been cold stacked.
The drillship Rowan Renaissance also started its contract with Spanish giant Repsol in the US Gulf of Mexico last month, while the jack-up Joe Douglas began a contract in Trinidad for BHP Billiton.
