Output from Shell’s Shearwater platform will be offline for a number of weeks, with work due to begin within days to resolve a problem with high-pressure/high-temperature (HPHT) well, the supermajor has confirmed.
Production from the UK central North Sea facility was shut down on the evening of Friday 2 December after an alarm was triggered during work on a new development well.
