Production was suspended on the Nelson and Shearwater facilities on Tuesday and on Monday respectively, with work expected to last until early next week.
A Shell spokesman said the dates of the shut-downs were planned long before a decision by about 350 members of the RMT and Unite unions employed by services contractor Wood Group to hold strike action on seven oil and gas platforms in a pay dispute.
