The PNG LNG project partners are working with Sinopec to finalise a binding sale and purchase agreement, ExxonMobil said.
The supplies will feed a LNG receiving terminal that Sinopec will reportedly build in China's eastern province of Shandong.
A final investment decision on the project is planned for later this year.
