Inspectors from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) who carried out the recent audit onboard field facilities found the field’s cranes “showed signs of ageing, technical challenges and a need for maintenance”, according to their report.
The PSA identified regulatory violations on crane maintenance related to lack of replacement of worn parts, failings in following the manufacturer’s manual and lack of monitoring of the technical condition of cranes.
