The order has now been imposed by the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) after it last month served notice on the state-owned operator due to “serious breaches of the regulations” in connection with the leak of 2800 kilograms, or four cubic metres, of condensate.
Although no one was injured in the incident, it “could have resulted in a major accident with loss of life, substantial damage to material assets and consequences for the marine environment”, according to the PSA.
