The award of the permit, located south of the Buru Energy-operated L-11-1 permit and north of the New Standard Energy-operated EP 417 permit in Western Australia’s Kimberley region, was made last month in the state’s latest acreage bid round.
Strata-X said in an announcement that it believed the block was prospective for both conventional and unconventional petroleum within the Carboniferous Laurel Formation, citing recent discoveries in the area by Buru Energy.
