Paris-based Technip said it would begin an “optimisation process” at Pori to reduce the yard’s staff and labour workforce from 786 to 416 through both temporary lay-offs and terminations.
The company said it would also provide new training opportunities for its staff in Finland with an eye to attracting clients in the future.
The announcement came as the yard wrapped up work on converting Technip’s own Apache II pipelay vessel.
