The US saw a total rig count last month of 509, up 28 from the 481 counted in August. Figures went up compared to July and June a well, with 449 units counted in July, which was, in turn, up 32 rigs on June.
However, numbers were down 339 from the 848 counted in September 2015.
The international rig count for September was 934 down three from the 937 counted in August, and down 206 from the 1140 counted in September last year.
