The Jersey City, New Jersey-based firm plans to merge the Quest Offshore unit into Edinburgh-based Wood Mackenzie, which Verisk bought last year for $2.8 billion.
Verisk hopes the combined entity will give clients a more robust picture of the offshore oil and gas sector. The deal expands the services offered by Wood Mackenzie's Infield offshore supply chain intelligence segment and its upstream suite of data and analysis products.
