The victim, a Norwegian male in his late forties, suffered serious injuries in the incident that occurred around 11am on Saturday at the Barents Sea facility and he was subsequently airlifted to University Hospital in Tromso, local media reported.
A hospital spokesman was quoted as saying by Stavanger Aftenblad the man’s condition was “serious but stable” and his injuries were not life-threatening.
