Hyundai will fabricate the 30,000-tonne central processing platform and associated infrastructure for the project in the Baram Delta production sharing contract off Malaysia.

The topsides will be built at ­Hyundai’s Ulsan yard, while the 14,000-tonne substructure may be constructed in Malaysia.

The South Korean giant beat off partnerships of France’s Technip with Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering, Saipem of Italy with Malaysia’s SapuraKencana, and China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company with Petrofac, plus a sole bid from US contractor ­McDermott.
