AUSTRALIA’S liquefied natural gas construction boom was like a lucky clover for the two Irish co-founders of Perth-based heavy engineering company Civmec, which in just five years of operations has become one of the leading oil and gas fabricators in Australia.
Civmec began building its waterfront construction facility in December 2009, which was the same time that Chevron snubbed Australian fabricators by selecting Asian yards to build the LNG modules for the Gorgon project.
