Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signalled the readiness of the country’s authorities to “take immediate steps” on the road to implementing a Russian plan to build a gas export pipeline across the Black Sea to Turkey, Greece and onward to Europe.
Speaking after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg earlier this week, Erdogan confirmed that Turkey is “prepared to discuss [terms] and take the [final] decision” on the project, “with no obstacles seen” to prevent progress.
