Australian offshore explorer 3D Oil has boosted its exploration portfolio with a new shallow-water permit off south-east Australia adjacent to the producing Kingfish oilfield.
3D said the rationale for taking up mature Block Vic/P74, which was offered in Australia's 2018 licensing round, is based on the likely enhancement of 3D seismic in the basin as a result of reprocessing being carried out by CGG.
