The data was acquired by WesternGeco using its WG Magellan vessel which is now understood to be finishing a 5000-square kilometre 3D shoot in an adjacent block — Exploration Right 236 — operated by Italy’s Eni, with Sasol Petroleum as a partner.
The Tugela South survey will help pinpoint potential wildcat drilling locations in deep waters between Durban and Richards Bay.
