IRAN’S Pasargad Energy Development Company (PEDC) has won a $2.2 billion contract to build a 590-kilometre extension of the IGAT-6 gas trunkline on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis.
This is the first such known contract in Iran’s energy sector involving BOT, an arrangement whereby the contractor completes the project at its own cost, operates it for a period, normally up to 30 years, and hands over all assets when the contract is completed.
