Indian rig contactor Aban Offshore is poised to win a deep-water drilling contract from state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for its operations off the country’s east coast.
Drilling sources said Aban is well positioned to win a two-year charter from ONGC for its drillship Aban Abraham.
Aban emerged as the lowest bidder in the competitive rig tender, for which close to a dozen bids were submitted earlier this year.
