PETROBRAS has proudly announced this week that domestic output has touched 1.4 million barrels per day. Satisfaction, however, was tempered by knowledge that a troubled order for three manifolds from Swiss contractor ABB is threatening company targets. The push to get the giant Marlim field to capacity has provided the impetus for much increased output in recent months. The arrival of the P-37 floater in Brazil last year represented the final piece in a jigsaw to push Marlim production to 550,000 barrels per day.
