Contractors offering to lease licensees a floater for Abbot are due to be short-listed imminently. The industry expects Amerada and Shell to opt to buy a ship for the project. Shell continues to engineer a subsea alternative, tied back to its Gannet facilities.
Abbot FPSO bid deadline
BIDS are due in now to Amerada Hess in London for the provision of a production vessel for the development of the Abbot field in UK North Sea block 29/1. The documents relate to the possible purchase by partners Amerada and Shell of a floating production, storage and offloading unit.
