Gazprom Neft and Rosneft, the state-run Russian shareholders in oil-producing venture Messoyakhaneftegaz, have agreed to proceed with commercial development of deep Achimov formations at the East Messoyakha field after the completion of another successful well, writes Vladimir Afanasiev.
According to Gazprom Neft, the latest horizontal well, which penetrated the Achimov reservoir at a depth of about 3200 metres, flowed an average rate of 435 tonnes (3,300 barrels) per day of light oil.
