Activists in Senegal are taking to the streets and airwaves in opposition to President Macky Sall’s (pictured, right) upstream oil and gas policy, criticising the government over opaque oil deals and pointing accusing fingers at would-be beneficiaries.
One of the most influential Paris-based diaspora groups getting stuck into the ongoing fracas over the way oil blocks have been allocated is known as Le Collectif Citoyen des Senegalais de France pour la Defense et la Sauvegarde des Ressources Naturelles — or by the very handy acronym CCSFDSRN.
