Adnoc Drilling is retaining a Shelf Drilling-owned rig for further work off the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE-based driller has extended its contract with the jack-up High Island VII for another six months.
Shelf said this week the Marathon LeTourneau 82-SD-C unit has been kept on for work in the Persian Gulf, but did not reveal the charterer.
However, the latest fleet status report from Shelf indicates that Adnoc Drilling took the unit in February 2016 until June 2019 for work in the UAE, with no dayrate disclosed.
