Africa Oil is on track to pick up a 50% stake in Brazilian state giant Petrobras’ deep-water assets in Nigeria after two partners in a deal struck last year for a joint acquisition pulled out.

Trading giant Vitol and London-based Delonex Energy are quitting the Petrovida Holding consortium, which in October 2018 agreed a $1.407 billion deal to take half of Petrobras Oil & Gas BV (POGBV), which counts, among other assets, a stake in the Total-operated block hosting the producing Egina field.
