Sino-Africa is a new joint venture established between a mainland Chinese state oil company unit and high-profile Lagos businessman Leno Adesanya, who also runs local indie Zebra Oil and Gas.
Under government rules, Sino-Africa's bid to farm in to Amni's producing licence OML-112 would be capped at 40% and sources indicated discussions remain "at an early stage since certain conditions would have to be met".
