The UK Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) called for research into the fatigue performance of components manufactured from high-strength, low-alloy steel.
The recommendations also contained a call to amend regulations so that mooring lines on liferafts are long enough for the raft to float at a safe distance from the helicopter.
