Domestic contractor Aibel has been awarded a Nkr600 million ($73.5 million) contract to fabricate a new gas module for Statoil’s Troll C platform off Norway as part of a newly-approved programme to boost output from the Fram field.
The award follows a Nkr1 billion investment decision on Fram by the state-controlled operator and its partners, disclosed this week.
Aibel had earlier secured a key front-end engineering and design study for the module, putting it in pole position for the coveted contract.
