UK supermajor BP has agreed a strategic alliance on the use of advanced technology with Norway’s Aker BP.
Under the proposed alliance the duo plans to explore potential venture capital investments targeting technology and innovation improvements.
The pair will also look to identify and evaluate innovations that could improve the environmental performance of offshore oil and gas production.
BP holds a direct 30% interest in Aker BP, which was formed in 2016 when the UK player merged its Norwegian business with local companies Det Norske Oljeselskap and Aker.
