Norway's Aker Energy may enter into joint ventures with Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) as a means of realising its commitment to boost indigenous capacity in the West African country’s oil and gas sector.
According to industry sources, there is also talk of assisting small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and even funding start-ups, but no details have been forthcoming — partially because of a lack of clarity on the Ghanaian side as to exactly what kind of assistance is required.
