Norwegian engineering contractor Aker Solutions is again being forced to wield the jobs axe in its subsea business as it continues to suffer from a lack of work, writes Steve Marshall.

As many as 150 workers face being laid off at its subsea services base in Aagotnes on Norway’s west coast, where the headcount was slashed by more than half to 423 from 950 workers in 2014, before the recent market downturn.
