US supermajor Chevron is preparing to make headway on its Jansz-Io compression project off Western Australia after confirming the
award of a front-end engineering and design contract to Norway's Aker Solutions.
Chevron said the joint venture partners have agreed to proceed to FEED on the development, for which Aker will carry out work on a subsea compression station.
The project is intended to boost gas recovery from the fields, which are part of Chevron's Gorgon liquefied natural gas project.
