US musician Akon is to feature a Shell-sponsored innovative soccer pitch in Nigeria in his latest single, as the climate-conscious rapper also expands his African solar business to Latin America.
The “Smack That” and “Lonely” star was on hand recently along with the Anglo-Dutch supermajor to unveil the new pitch at the Federal College of Education in Akoka, Lagos that captures kinetic energy from players running on the surface to generate electricity.
