The US plans to offer 3.98 million acres for oil and gas development in the National Petroleum Reserve of Alaska in a lease sale scheduled for next month.
The Bureau of Land Management said the 11 December lease sale would include 350 blocks. The opening of sealed bids will be live-streamed and bids are due by 9 December.
The most recent sale in 2018, which offered 254 tracts, generated $1.53 million through bids on 16 blocks and awarded 174,044 acres.
