The new push to get oil and gas activity going on the coastal plain is part of a proposal called the Oil & Gas Resource Evaluation & Exploration Proposal for the ANWR 1002 Area.
The plan was produced by the Alaska Division of Oil & Gas and details a seven-year seismic and exploration programme to provide a much more definitive assessment of the magnitude of the oil and gas resources within the 1002 Area.
