Although the Canadian province’s government has little say whether producers use rail or not, it is considering rail transport to meet increasing demand in markets outside the US.
“We’ve always indicated that it was an option. We’ve consistently said that we would be seeking alternative markets and whatever would meet the market demand we’d certainly be supportive of it,” said Alberta’s Minister of Energy, Ron Liepert.
