US engineering and construction giant KBR has won a major contract to provide engineering and project management services for Algeria’s Salah Gas and In Amenas field developments.
The giant gas fields are operated by a joint venture of state-owned Sonatrach, supermajor BP and Norway’s Statoil.
The partners have stepped up development work at the fields in the past year after work resumed following a terrorist attack that left 40 workers dead at In Amenas in 2013.
