Equinor has awarded a major decommissioning contract for the Statfjord A topsides off Norway to Swiss marine contractor Allseas, with the platform to be dismantled at Kvaerner’s Stord facility, where it was built.
State-controlled Norwegian major Equinor will shut in the platform in 2022, 43 years after it started production, with Allseas to use its giant twin-hulled offshore construction and heavy-lift vessel Pioneering Spirit on the removal job.
