The newest Alpine satellite, which started producing on 8 August, is called Fiord.
The relatively small crude oil deposit lies about five miles (eight kilometres) north of the main oilfield in the Colville River delta some 50 miles west of Prudhoe on the border of the National Petroleum Reserve.
Fiord consists of a gravel drilling pad on the tundra with no connecting road.
