UK-based Amec Foster Wheeler has emerged as Sasol Petroleum’s preferred bidder for a major engineering, procurement and construction management contract related to its $2 billion PSA Expansion project onshore Mozambique.
Industry sources said the London-listed company had beaten a rival bid from a partnership involving Japan-based JGC.
A formal award has yet to be made and, said country watchers, is unlikely to be announced until Mozambique’s authorities have approved the project which involves expanding the Temane field’s gas processing capacity and developing the Inhassoro oil discovery.
