US operator Anadarko Petroleum is making progress on its planned drilling campaign in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico as it looks to add production volumes to its robust portfolio of prospects.
Field sources indicated that Anadarko has completed its first development well at Horn Mountain Deep in Mississippi Canyon Block 127.
The well was spudded in late February, reached a total depth of about 17,500 feet in mid-April and hit 70 feet of net oil pay, Anadarko reported last month.
