Anadarko Petroleum is hoping to soon follow in the footsteps of Italian major Eni by taking a final investment decision on a proposed liquefied natural gas development in Mozambique.

The US independent has finalised a pair of agreements with the Maputo administration that have paved the way towards sanctioning of an initial two-train onshore project.

The agreements, together known as the marine concessions, will allow the Houston-based giant to design, build and operate the LNG project in the northern part of Mozambique.
