BP named Anadarko the new operator in July and handed over a 33.33% stake in the 100%-owned field, effective last month, according to US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) records.
No details on the transaction terms were available. Anadarko did not offer comment by press time.
BP quietly drilled and claimed a discovery at Hopkins last year in Green Canyon Block 627.
