The Anadarko-operated Area 1 off Mozambique is estimated to hold between 50 trillion and 75 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in all, enough to generate more than 50 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas, writes Iain Esau.
The other key discovery in Area 1 is Prosperidade, which extends in Eni-operated Area 4 where it is called Mamba.
