Italy's Eni has delayed by one year a wildcatting campaign in the frontier Angoche basin off Mozambique.

Eni originally planned to spud the first exploration probe in its A5-A licence in the first quarter of 2020 and was on the lookout for a drillship for one firm well, with options to drill two more.

However, in a fresh expression of interest (EoI) for a drillship — responses to which must be submitted by 7 October — Eni said that the spud date is now expected to be the first quarter of 2021.
